Galvannealing & Edge Heating |
Galvannealing |
High frequency tests have shown that rapid heating,
controlled holding and rapid cooling of the strip,
enhance the development of the required intermetallic
phase and thus the build-up of the appropriate
metallurgic properties.
Inductotherm has pioneered reliable heating systems
for high frequency galvannealing by introducing the
following features:
High frequency inverter maintains high efficiencies, at thinner
gauges and promotes uniform heating of the strip. |
Patented doorless inductor easily allows movement on/off-line and facilitates maintenance |
Single turn doorless inductor withstands the adverse effects of zinc dust, thereby greatly reducing maintenance requirements |
Preassembled UNIGAL inverter/inductor unit reduces installation and commissioning time |

Edge Heater |
Inductotherm has also developed and patented a new
type of induction edge heating system by using an inductor
that automatically adjusts to a change of strip
dimensions without any movement. This system can
be added below the galvanneal heating assembly.
Homogenizes strip temperature prior to galvannealing |
Accommodates varying strip width without mechanical
adjustment |
Proprietary preassembled design for UNIEDGE™
induction edge heaters minimizes installation and commissioning time |
